Hey I’m Nadia!

I’m an Aotearoa New Zealand based Home Education Consultant, specialising in Unschooling and similar philosophies such as Life Learning and Roadschooling.

I also have been enjoying supporting a lot of Neurodivergent families in their unschooling journeys (this is a wonderful approach to learning for our ND learners by the way, especially PDA’ers).

Having worked with children since I was essentially still one myself, I have many years of experience and knowledge to help me understand the deep personality traits, learning styles and life factors which influence how a child navigates the world and their learning.

Some of that background includes working as a Support Worker for Autistic youth for a number of years, Tertiary level study in Child Development and Educational Psychology (as well as Education, Sociology and Psychology) and working as a Primary Trained School Teacher at Intermediate level. I am also supporting loved ones to navigate their own neurodivergence and learning along the way.

Perhaps my biggest role now is that of Mum to two beautiful children who I have been unschooling since my son was about 4.5. I am deeply immersed in the West Auckland Unschooling Community and have collected a wealth of information and useful connections along our own journey, which I just love to share with others.

I am always happy to receive messages or have a wee phone/video call to reassure you and answer a few questions. I find so many parents feel a huge weight has been lifted off their shoulders after just having an initial conversation with me.
